על איות והגייה

חושבים שאפשר לדעת מאופן איות המילה באנגלית איך ניתן להגות אותה? Think again…
אל תתנו לאיות באנגלית לבלבל אתכם. בניגוד לשפות אחרות, כמו ספרדית למשל, אנגלית היא לא שפה פונטית. האיות לא תמיד תואם את ההגייה. חשוב ללמוד את המילים באנגלית לפי אופן ההגייה ולא לפי צורת האיות. אם אתם לא בטוחים איך הוגים מילה פנו לכל מילון אינטרנטי באנגלית (המלצה שלי: www.dictionary.com שם תוכלו לשמוע את המילה וגם לראות את הכיתוב הפונטי שלה)
מאחר ולמילים באנגלית מקורות שונים האיות שונה, וגם, איות שנקבע באנגלית עתיקה אינו מאפיין את ההגייה המודרנית שהשתנתה עם השנים…
